The latest FET (6.1.8) precompiled for Windows 64-bit, using the new Qt 6.2.0, shows problems for some users, related to this dll: api-ms-win-core-synch-l1-2-0.dll

Possible solutions: Search the internet for a cause/solution, install all the (necessary) updates of Windows 7, or use the precompiled FET for 32-bits, by Volker (see https://lalescu.ro/liviu/fet/download.html), which uses the old Qt 5.15.2.

I think win7 is no longer supported by microsoft.  a manual installation of the dynamic file would seem to be necessary.

Maybe. But I think a Windows 7 user can get all the updates from Microsoft's site.

On the other hand, a user reported a problem in which he seemed to have this dll, but a needed function was not found in it.

The most commonly occurring error messages are:

1. The program can't start because api-ms-win-core-synch-l1-2-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

2. There was a problem starting api-ms-win-core-synch-l1-2-0.dll. The specified module could not be found.

3. Error loading api-ms-win-core-synch-l1-2-0.dll. The specified module could not be found.

4. The code execution cannot proceed because api-ms-win-core-synch-l1-2-0.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

5. api-ms-win-core-synch-l1-2-0.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vender for support.

In the vast majority of cases, the solution is to properly reinstall api-ms-win-core-synch-l1-2-0.dll on your PC, to the Windows system folder. Alternatively, some programs, notably PC games, require that the DLL file is placed in the game/application installation folder.

Please use the 32-bit version of FET executable for Windows, compiled by Volker, which uses Qt 5.15.2 and should work.

I am sorry, but Qt 6.2.0 seems incompatible with Windows 7. I don't know what to say. You might want to get Qt 5.15.2 64-bit and compile on your computer FET for for 64-bit. The README file contains advice on how to compile, but it is not very easy.

Anyway, with FET-32-bit you are not missing out from 64-bit, only a bit of speed.
