Title: Planning of weekly calender based on total hours from a subject in a semester
Post by: srtadauf on April 19, 2012, 10:10:04 PM
I have studied your software and compared with the situation where we are facing in and my first doubt is:
Our school works with a calendar for semester that may change the configuration weekly.
A course has a set of subjects where each subject has a specific number of hours to achieve.
For example, I have a course "X" where the subjects A (54hours per semester), B (36 hours per semester), C (72h per semester) are parts of. Each subject could spend 2 or 4 periods (hour/classes) per day and not necessarily needs to happen more than 1 time per week.
Then, my calender for each week doesn't follow a pattern, but, I need to a plan and adjust following the totality of hours required to be given in a semester. Do you see it?
So, I need to know if the software could do this kind of planning.

I think of possible alternative solutions:

1) Increase the number of "days" per "week" to 180 (how many days are in a semester?)

2) Have a FET "day" equal a real week. You have 60 FET "hours" per "day" - is that enough to enclose all real hours in a week? Also, the number of "hours" per "day" can be increased.

hmmm...

why complicating it.
36 hours per semester are 2 hours per week.
54 hours per semester are 3 hours per week.
72 hours per semester are 4 hours per week.

so just do a weekly timetable.

Thanks guys,  ;)

I'm going to test this tips in my real situation. If I have any more question, I will go back.
