Title: Breaks and gaps
Post by: Chafik Graiguer on August 24, 2010, 01:03:02 PM
At Add break time dialog, FET says:
QuoteThe important thing is that a break doens not induce gaps for teachers or students
This is a good news
However, my question is: deos free slots BEFORE or AFTER break slots are counted as gaps?
In the following example:
A1---- A2 ---- A3 ---- Free ---- BREAK-------- A4 ----A5 -----
Can FET allow the Free slot before break?
In my opinion, it should do, because a free slot before or after a break slot isont really a gap, it only adds more break to the break period !!
Break period itself is a free slot !!

You are right in your request, but FET will count Free slot as a gap.

There might be other people who might need this present setting of FET (contrary to what you need). Also, what you request seems (very?) difficult.

Hello Liviu
FET has already ability to allow gaps (Max gaps per day.. ) but it is up to you to decide how much it is easy or difficult to implement

Yes, peoples have different needs! So if this feature will be ever implemented, you can make it as an option

Max gaps per day is one thing, but max gaps continuously is another thing (yes, I know, you are not requesting max gaps continuously, but this is an equivalent problem).

Also, counting n continuous gaps as a single gap is (very?) difficult.
