Hello,
I have an activity that I need to schedule into two rooms at the same time. The group of students is sometimes in the classroom but they are also sometimes in the computer lab so I need both rooms to show in use at the same time. The activity does not have a specific start time (I am letting the program schedule it wherever it fits), however when the activity does occur I would like both rooms to be booked.
I tried creating a dummy activity and put a constraint of having them start at the same day/time but that did not work. Also, when I add the dummy activity it says that the hours I want for the specific set of students is to high, but really I am not adding more hours to their day I am just wanting the two activities to occur at the same time.
Any suggestions?
Thank you
Maybe the dummy activity should have no students in your case.
Maybe you can attach your file, so we can see the problem.
Thank you for replying so quickly.
I tried putting in the dummy activity with no students in as you suggested, however I could not get the dummy activity to show up in the final timetable so I have now removed it.
The activity I want to have two rooms is Bus. Management Lab1 with Litwin, B (as instructor). The class is currently in room RDC110, but I want it to also reserve room Reek 110 for the same hours. The dummy class I have created is BM DAGR3100*1. I would like Sr. Ag - SA s1 to have the class.
I have attached my fet file.
Thank you
Krista
Your pseudo activity get a room. You can see it if you watch the room timetable.
You can't currently see it in the students or teachers timetable, because it doesn't have students or teachers. (but that is correct).
You need to add an activity constraint now. Use a set of activities have same starting time (day+hour) and connect this pseudo activity to the other activity that need 2 rooms.
by this the second room is "blocked" and can be used.
If you also want to see that in the html teachers or students timetable, then please go to fet -> settings -> timetable -> print activities with same starting time.
Awesome,
Thank you so much. I guess I had been actually getting it without realizing it. Thank you so much for your feedback.
