Title: Time table at Batna University - Algeria
Post by: laidmessaoudi on July 30, 2013, 06:32:51 PM
I used FET for time tabling the Mechanical Department at Batna University since 2010.
The attached file is the first semester 2012-2013 example.

Thank you for your file!

Please tell me if I can add it in the official examples (no privacy problems). Also, in what directories structure (see the location of other example files).

yes, you can add the file and the attached file also (the second semester of 2012-2013 year).

I think that you can put them in a new folder "Algeria" and a subdirectory "Mechanical Department of Batna University".

Thank you for your great efforts. Your software save us a lot of time.

Good continuance

Also, please tell me: these are locked files? Should I unlock all activities which are not permanently locked?

Sorry, I don't understund because All the activities are unlocked  "Active" in FET ! The files I sent you are able to generate the time table with all the activities. I just try it and all be fine !

Can you tell me an example of an activity wich is permanently locked ? perhaps I don't understund the question ! Sorry.

In your file/dataset are many activities with a set/fixed time.
So it is more like already finished then calculated automaticly.
So Liviu want to know if he can remove this locked times or if he should keep them.
(Because the sample files shouldn't be (nearly) final results that are manually locked. FET should generated them itself. But maybe/probably there were reasons why you locked/fix that activities at special times; but we can't see this reasons easily.)

At the beginning, FET works normally with a certain number of constraints and the timetable is automatically generated.
Once the number of constraints was augmented, I do not succeed in having an allowable resolution. I therefore fixed a certain number of constraints and eliminated the others then I supplemented manually to satisfy everybody.

So you can now remove this locked times. This will not affect the final time table.
