Title: Staff activity room
Post by: hipl on April 09, 2014, 06:35:54 AM
Hi

Teacher's in my institute have following activities apart from the classes to be taken

1) planning with parallel teacher
2)Feedback session with HOD/Principal
3) House duties
4) Committee duties
5) Planning & research and many others

every teacher to do the job uses the staff room

how can i add multiple teachers in the same room??
or multiple activities in the same room??

i cannot create multiple rooms and assign each activity a room because there are already multiple rooms available like (primary school staff room, secondary school staff room etc..)

Thank you

Then why can't you simply ignore the fact that the activities are to be scheduled in a room (leave the activities without a room and in real life consider they are in the staff room).

what if i do this
1) define the home room of each teacher to be staff room
2) All students group will have a room to them
3) by default the teacher will be there in staff room for all activities and when a teacher is associated to a student group it means she is in the room assigned to the group

All constraint should be respected. I think you will obtain an impossible timetable (see attached file and try to run FET on it)

as Liviu said:  simply ignore it.

in worst case (but i don't think you have that problem) you have a problem with number of chairs in that room. If you might have that problem, then you can add rooms "teacherroom - chair 1", "teacherroom - chair 2", ... (of course better use shortcuts) and add roomS constraints with this rooms/chairs.
