Our contributor, yush, provided a download link to FET compiled by him for Mac OS X (Intel). Please see the FET homepage, Download and Tools/Links sections.
Please write here your problems/results.
Currently, his FET compiled for Mac OS X is FET-5.14.5, the same version as the latest official version.
Hi - I downloaded FET for Intel Mac but it won't run. It keeps saying ' The Application FET quit unexpectedly'. My Macbook isn't very new.. 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running OSX 10.4.11.
Is there anything I can do ?
Thanks :)
The report says:
Link (dyld) error:
Symbol not found: __ZSt16__ostream_insertIcSt11char_traitsIcEERSt13basic_ostreamIT_T0_ES6_PKS3_i
Referenced from: /Users/macuser/Desktop/fet-5.14.5/fet.app/Contents/MacOS/fet
Expected in: /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib
yush will probably answer soon.
Meanwhile, thank you for the problem report, and this is what I think: libstdc++.6 is a shared library usually found on any Mac (and GNU/Linux). So it is not included in yush's executable FET for Mac archive. yush's libstdc++.6 is newer than yours. Yours misses a newer function. This function is called or needs to be present when FET runs. So, you may solve your problem by updating libstdc++.6 from the package manager.
Anyway, even if you solve your problem this way, I think we should think of a general fix, so that each user can run FET compiled for Mac without the need to update some packages.
It probably has to do with me not setting the minimum target flag when compiling. Akashic, can you download a new file at: http://fet.wiki2me.com/download/test/fet.zip
just unzip and replace the new "fet" file with the old one. Let me know if it work, or what kind of error.
Sorry, that wasn't it. I found another mac and tried it. I need to do more testing.
akashic, please go to
http://fet.wiki2me.com/download/test/fet.zip
to download the new one. Just upzip and replace the fet file with the old one
Let me know if it works.
Hi Yush,
will you be providing a Mac-Version of the FET-5.15.0 release?
Cheers!

yush just updated his FET for Mac OS X to FET-5.15.0. Please see his usual link.
Hi Yush,
thanks for your effort!
Cheers!

Hi All
Any chance Yush can update the build to 5.16?
also, is there a way I can customize the output teacher's timetables so that it fits our school's formal format?
thanks a million for a great software.

I hope he will see this message and find the time to update his Mac version.

I'll split this message on a new topic, to answer this further question.Hmm, splitting is not working as I want. So, please start a new topic with your question, and I'll put a link here to that topic.
Been busy with school... Will get 5.16 on Mac in a couple of weeks. Stay tuned.
Ok. I compiled 5.16 and made it available from the same download link. However, I haven't tested on any machine other then my own. This definitely will not work on PPC. It's Intel only.
Thank you! I am so sorry I just released version 5.16.1 the next day, but anyway the changes are really minor.
5.18.0 is now available from the same link :)
Thank you.
But you changed the link some time ago. (Link on fet homepage is correct, but not in this topic)
(User get a "file not found". Maybe correct it in your post from 16 July 2011, 04:19:25.)
The link is this now:
http://fet.wiki2me.com/download/
Thank you!
Hello,
I am running a Mac with OS 10.74, for some reason when I try to update to fet-intel-5.18.0
I get the following "Check with the developer to make sure fet works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OS X.
Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple."
But 5.16 still works fine?
Am I missing something?
Hallo,
did you use Yushun Yuen Mac Version from 12.05.2012 or the Version from 25.06.2012?
(compare:
lalescu.ro/liviu/fet/forum/index.php?action=post;topic=167.15;last_msg=6688
http://fet.wiki2me.com/download/ (main directory and also the "temp" directory) )
Please test also the other version and report the results.
Apparently the "fet.wiki2me.com" is up for sale. :(
Is their another download possibility?
My FET 5.18 constantly crashes on startup on Mac OS X 10.8.4 (12E55).
Cheers!
Sorry all... I forgot yo pay my service provider... will take care of that soon. -yush
The new link is: http://fet.lmi2me.com/download/
Please confirm me that it is the same link from the Tools/Links section of FET homepage.
The link to the Mac version of FET (http://fet.lmi2me.com/download/ (http://fet.lmi2me.com/download/)) isn't working at the moment.
[Edit: What's the typical bandwidth usage for FET Mac downloads? I could maybe help with some hosting if it's not too high.]
I just wrote to Yush, but I think I wrote also previously to him and he didn't answer.
I am not sure about the bandwidth for FET for Mac. But we need to have someone to create the Mac version.
Building FET on the Mac is beyond my technical ability, but I think I'd be able to help with hosting the download files.
I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if Yush responds with any further info (perhaps he's away on a summer holiday).
Thank you!
Sorry all. Forgot to pay for my service again. The link should be working now.
It looks like the link is not functioning, again.
Our contributor, dmcdonald, kindly offered us an executable for Mac OS X. Please see the Download page of FET, or Tools/Links (directly).
