Title: Exploring FET for University Department
Post by: drghirlanda on June 14, 2014, 04:28:02 AM
Hi,
I am exploring FET to improve scheduling at our Department. The College does the scheduling of students and rooms, so I only need to assign teachers to subjects (does not change much from semester to semester) and teachers to hours. I was wondering whether FET can do this without bothering with students and rooms, that is, if I can just ignore entering students and rooms and FET can work with the rest.

Also, I would have to schedule classes at paired days, for example either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, with the class starting at the same time on both days. Is this hard to do?

Looks like a great piece of software, thanks!

Maybe see the custom mapr version, please read http://lalescu.ro/liviu/fet/forum/index.php?topic=1616.0

Real subjects might be "FET rooms", and you need to assign activities to rooms. You will have two sets of subjects, real ones and FET rooms ones.

You can use min+max days between activities and activities same starting hour.
