Title: Activities
Post by: Garouda on May 09, 2008, 10:54:37 AM
Hello everybody. I am definitely new in this subject and have to produce a timetable in the coming days...
I work as a (new) Deputy Headmaster, with a even newer Headmaster and try to find out how to get it sorted out.
I live in Chonburi Thailand.
Where could I find a step by step explanation about this program? :-/
I already printed the FET Manual but I don't find the explanation about the feature circled in red of this screenshot...
oops I selected twice, still doesn't appear in the preview...

Hello!

You chose to split this large container activity into 4 smaller activities. In the circle there is a tab widget (with 1, 2, ... 10 components, of which only the first 4 are enabled). Component 1 has a duration - please select the correct duration for it. Active should be checked (default).

For instance, if teacher T has activities with students S subject Su, 5 hours in total per week, 3 smaller activities: A1 (duration 2), A2 (duration 2), A3 (duration 1), then you add a larger activity split into 3 activities, component 1 has duration 2, then comp. 2 has duration 2, comp. 3 duration 1, all active (active checked - by default).

Please let us know if you have other problems or if this problem needs more details.

PS: I don't think there is a step-by-step explanation, but users and admins here will explain.

Thank you for the prompt reply
I must say I am quite impressed by your program I tried to figure out a solution by myself but those genetics algorithm are a bit too hard for me

Thank you!

FET-5 no longer uses genetic algorithms. It uses a recursive swapping algorithm.
