Title: How to manually set certain lecture periods?
Post by: Anand on January 08, 2009, 03:09:37 PM
Hello,

In our college, certain hours of lecture for a particular subject for a particular class and teacher in a week are preset by the College Time Table Committee. We are not allowed to change these timings.

For other subjects, the Department Time Table Committee has to allocate periods. I want to use FET to replace the work done by the Department Time Table Committee.

How to do this?

Thanks for your help,

Anand

I think you can use constraint activity(ies) preferred starting time(s).

Hello,

I need to first fix the following lecture hours and rooms:

Mon 15:30-16:30, II Sem Section-A, Basic Electrical Engineering, Teacher: ADS, Room: PS005

Tue 14:30-15:30, II Sem Section-A, Basic Electrical Engineering, Teacher: ADS, Room: PS005

Thu 12:40-13:30, II Sem Section-A, Basic Electrical Engineering, Teacher: ADS, Room: PS005

Fri 15:30-16:30, II Sem Section-A, Basic Electrical Engineering, Teacher: ADS, Room: PS005

Similar to this, I need to fix some more lecture hours at certain time and in certain rooms. After this, I have to allow FET to allocate time and room to other activities. How to do this?

Thanks for your help,

Anand

I think you need to use constraint activity preferred starting time to fix the activities in time and constraint activity preferred room for the same activities to fix them in space. Then generate a timetable.

Why can't you do that?
