Hi does anyone have a free solution for schools inventory & textbook control?

I am not sure if there is a difference.

Thanks Volker. I haven't checked out OpenBiblio but that would possibly work for the textbook system. But what I also need is a fixed asset register (Desk & chairs etc) for schools if possible.

I am not sure about your aim. but why not adding "chairs", "desktops", ... into a libary system. If you borrow a chair or a book, it's tha same.
If you want to check if yyou have enough books or chairs. It's also the same. So why not just saying/using a "chair" as a "book"?

Good idea Volker I'll take it up with the school. They may however require a fixed assest register where depreciation can be calculated and the eventually the item gets written off the books. Probably not for tables and chairs, but perhaps PCs and other equipment.

But thanks anyway, I'll discuss it with them.
