Title: a set of activities occupies max time slots from selection
Post by: Benahmed Abdelkrim on April 22, 2016, 09:45:48 AM

this constraint of time and little known, and we can say it is misunderstood. So I appeal to anyone that may contribute to clarify this point with the example please. and thank you in advance with all our gratitude.

there are a lot of possible problems you can solve with this constraint.

example:
there are 2 teachers at your school that come with the same car to school. so it would be nice if they have nearly the same workig time, so they can always drive together.

maybe teacher 1 work 25 hours per week and teacher 2 work 26 hours per day.
use this contraint. add all activities from teacher 1 and teacher 2 and allow max 26 hours. by that the teachers have (except of 1 hour) always the same time free. so they can use the car together.

we can use this constraint to the student? for example if we want that all student groups without exception finish their lessons at the same time in one day; 17h in Wednesday  for example,. how to use this constraint to satisfy this choice?

For this, you should use the constraint "A students set's not available times".

No, Vangelis, he wants students to have activities in that interval. It is the opposite of constraint students set not available.

You can't choose a fixed finish value by that constraint. You might do that by other tricks. But that is depending on your dataset. i need to know much more about your dataset to answer that.
