Title: pre-compiled version?
Post by: nratzan on July 17, 2009, 11:25:46 PM
Hi all,

I'm a science teacher at a very small school and we're trying to use FET to.. obviously... timetable. We don't however have an IT or real tech guy. I read about compiling on the README but don't have the software or real know how to compile a program like this.

I did read there were pre-compiled programs out there. Is that true? I've tried searching for them but haven't seen one. We run Mac computers with OS 10.4. Please let me know if there are any pre-compiled versions out there that I can get my hands on. That, or if you can simplify the explanation of how to compile the download of 5.10 then maybe I can work out the compiling process. Thanks again,
Noah :P

We can't precompile a mac version, because we don't have macs.
Other user told us that explaination, we can't check that discribtion, because we develop only on linux (and windows).

As a mac user you can try this:
http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxmac/

the windows version should run with that with your mac.

if it doesn't run, you can maybe spend a mac to me or liviu. so we can have a look and precompile for other users.

if you can't spend us a mac, then maybe spend us some money with purpose "mac". as soon we got enough donations with purpose "mac" to buy a mac, we can buy a mac and precompile. (but i fear it will take a very very long time if donations come in as fast as now. compare donations site at livius page.)

you can also search for fet+mac in the internet. as far as i know there is a precompiled mac version somewhere, but it is not done by the fet-developers, so we can't tell you what that guy has done. (hopefully just precompiled always only the newest official version, but i can't check that, because i don't have a mac.)
