Title: Open a previously generated timetable in FET?
Post by: jasonm on August 15, 2016, 03:36:02 AM
Hi All,

Sorry if this has already been asked, but I can't figure out how to open previously generated timetables in FET without having to generate a new one. Can this be done?

Thanks for any help!

In ~/fet-results/filename... (or C:\Users\name\fet-results\filename...) you will find a file filename_data_and_timetable.fet. Open it and generate it (it will be very fast). The timetable will be generated very fast and will be the same, only if the first timetable left some activities with unspecified rooms from constraints with weight < 100% these activities can now get a room.

Thanks very much for the quick reply.

I didn't realize that using that file and pressing generate would produce the same file!

Yes, same timetable. Or after you generate, press "Lock all activities".

The only exception (which might be good) is that activities which are not allocated a room might get now a room (in the second generation). But I guess this is rare.
