Title: Personalized schedules
Post by: Elevenderloin on January 15, 2017, 04:36:42 AM
I am wondering if anyone has used FET for personalized schedules, i.e. where students pick classes before the timetable is made. This would be for a very small school, less than 100 students. One possibility I considered is to enter each student as his/her own group. If anyone has had experience with such a workaround, I would even be happy just to know that it is possible.

You can do stuff like with with the custom FET mapr version (A version for automatic students course planning)

Volker, I think you are wrong. The student chooses the activities before starting to generate. Anyway, the FET-mapr custom version is difficult to work with and sometimes does not give results.

I think you can use the official, and indeed make a student = a FET group or subgroup (better, subgroup).

depending on what he mean about "pick classes". i guess in fact he mean "pick activities", but maybe i am wrong. (i think that, because he wrote "before the timetable is made".)
if you just mean "each students should get a personal timetable" and you done the course planning / activity planning already, then Liviu is rigth. In that case you normaly just use the students names as subgroup names.

Yes I did mean "pick activities" rather than "pick classes," so I will work with individual students as subgroups. Thank you for your quick responses!
