Hi, everybody.
First of all, this is the first time I have to deal with timetables in my career, the next course I'm working as head of studies in Spain (Balearic Islands) and "all this world" is new for me. So, I've just looked out this software and it seems extraordinary. I haven't dived all I wanted -I've been working on this software for 5 days-, but my first impressions are good. More or less I've discovered some features that solve some situations, i.e, optative subjects given at the same time in a whole stage etc or especifics subjects given at the same time in some groups, etc.
I looked for days in all the forums, but I didn't discover anything similar next situations.
1. An activity takes one hour. This activity is taught for three times per week. When I add this activity and I split it into ... activities per week, I choose 3, but I need one day gap between them. Ideally, it would be, monday, wendsday and friday. How coul I do this ? The minimun distance in days between activitis would be 1 or 2 ?
2. Could I split a 3 activity group into 2 consecutive an 1 single ,with one day gap ?
3. My school (in fact I work in a Spanish high school, 12-18 ages) in a five days timetable with 7+7+5+7+6 activities per day. As you can see there are 32 activities, and for every activity I need at least three teachers being on guard, just in case there are some others teachers left. We have to look after students without their teacher.
Moreover, we have 24 teacher two guard available 15 teachers three guards available and and 7 teachers four guard available. How could I do this in FET?. In a nutshell, I need for every activity at least three teachers being on guard.
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the size of this message. I apologize you.

You can add min 2 days between them. This means they need to be on Mo, We, Fr. If you add weight lower than 100%, then this constraint can be broken. Also, FET will invite you to add a second constraint, with min 1 day between them. You must choose weights so that your timetable is solvable and the timetable is good enough. Probably, you could start with min 1 day and if timetable is possible, strengthen the constraints. It is not so easy to add min 2 days after inputting the activity (you must go the the constraints min days between activities), but there are other facilities to help you: a multiple modify tool for min days between activities constraints and an advanced spreading of the activities. Spreading will suggest you to add the constraint that activities split into 3 should not be in three consecutive days. Probably this is a more plausible constraint. But you need to play with the parameters.

Of course. See the duration of each (sub)activity=>add split into 2, with durations 2 and 1. Then, min 2 days between them (which means in fact that they are 2 days apart, so there is a single day between them).

This is not easy, probably. I have no ideas for the moment - maybe you could try to add for each activity more students, or choose for each teacher the moment when he needs to be on guard and add a not available constraint for him.
Other users might answer on this problem with better ideas.

not 100% possible like you want, but you can think about somethink like that.
add an subject "guard".
add an activity with 2 number of hours to teachers that should guard 2 hours. (without students.)
similar to the others.
so you have totaly 2*23+3*15+4*7=121 hours.
if you have a 32 hours week you can use it "4 times".
(4*32=128), so it is maybe a problem of 128-121 hours. but the change is pretty low for that.
add 4 rooms. "guard1" to "guard4".
add constraint subject gurad must be 100% in rooms guard1 to guard4.
so you have max 4 guards per slot. result might be good enough.
(you can also think about using only 3 rooms and but exactly 96 hours into this 3 rooms. but i am not sure which one are the best.)
Reviving an old topic: teacher guards are possible, use the new constraint activities max simultaneous in selected time slots.
