Is there a way to set two simultaneous activities at the same room? In other words, one room shared by two activities?
thanks for helping
[modified later]
so you already know that before you generated the table?
if you have you have activity 1 with teacher 1, student 1 ans subject 1
and you also have activity 2 with teacher 2, students 2 and subject 2.
i think there are at least 2 possibilities with different (dis-)advantages:
1. solution:
delete that activities (1 and 2).
make a new activity just with teacher 1 and 2, and student 1 and 2. (you can add several teachers/students at once in a single activity)
But you can add only one subject. if subject 1 is simlar to subject 2, then you have no problem.
if the subjects a different (maybe "math" and "physics", then you need do make a new subject "math & physics")
2. solution:
Don't change the activities. don't add a room to the second activity. (if you have problems with that, because maybe all subject of that activity has a preferd room (for example subject "computer"), then make a new subject "computer "). a user will not see the difference and the room constraint doesn't effect that new subject.)
of course you can't see the room in the timetable in that case, so you need to say (or write in html) that manualy.
Sorry, can you give me a little more detailed answer, I hardly understand this one.
Sorry, my answer was very short and my grammar was bad.
i modified the first solution in previous mail. please read again. Is is now clear? Should i also explain the second solution more detailed?
Thanks a lot for your explanation Volker,
Answering to your first question, no, I didn't know this situation. As you can see we're handling lots of information, and thus, of situations, and everyday there are new ones
The 2nd solution seems more suitable to my case, but anyway if I add a new subject with the same name I will not be able to assign it the same room of the activity with which have to share the room, because this room is already blocked by the first activity.
Anyway, what I'm thinking to do is duplicate the room with a slight difference in name, for instance if I have room 32.424, I will create 32424 (without the dot, or maybe with a coma)
oh yes, doubling room is also an possibility.
Your solution to put two rooms to represent a large one is nice and lets you to use it with other activities, but...

Volker suggests to add a different subject with a
different name: if you look, it has a
space at the end... So FET will not need to put that activity in any room. You only have to
constraint those two activities to be placed toghether, at the same time & day. One activity will be placed in the room and the other atcivity will be at same time + day, no room. You have to edit html file to write the room manually.
Nice solution this too. :)
