I would advise you to begin with a new translation, from zero, so you will have your own style, but it is your decision if you prefer to use the current translation.

The most important, to begin, is FetMainForm_template.

Please tell us how do you intend to work: manually, in Qt Linguist, or using translation tools as Google Translate or Artificial Intelligence. I did Romanian manually, and the majority of the other translators are translating manually. I very much prefer and appreciate manual translations, but I cannot say no to an automatic translation, which for instance is the new Bosnian translation, where Bolja skola translated automatically and then began correcting it.

Do you like our program, FET? Some thoughts?

I've started the translation from scratch, and I'm following this strategy:

First, I began with manual translation. After a while, I used an AI to continue the process, providing it with my initial translations and explanations to ensure a consistent style that fits the context.

Next, I am providing the AI with the remaining content segments from the .ts file to get bulk translations.

Finally, I'm reviewing these translations for correctness and consistency.

I plan a new FET release maybe tomorrow very early in the morning, or maybe on Wednesday very early in the morning, at 4 o'clock Romania time. I am only waiting for Qt 6.9.2 and I prefer to release at that hour because of several reasons (I can work uninterrupted, the internet is better, I am rested). If you would like me to include your partial work and add you as the current Turkish translator, please let me know before that.

I would need your name or pseudonym, and an email address, please, if we'll add your Turkish now. You can email me if you want, and also by email I receive the ts files (I don't need the qm files). I am fet4 AT lalescu.ro, or you can seek contact information on lalescu.ro, which is always updated.

I intend to add your credits as your name or pseudonym and, similar to Bosnian translator credits, "Assisted by x", where x is your choice of the AI name. Is that OK with you?

I would prefer full Turkish translation to be included in FET as I received some demands from Turkish teachers here. They want to use FET fully functional. Therefore, if you postpone the new release 1 week, I can finish all translations. If it is not possible, lets skip partial translation, and they should wait the other release with full translation.

There are some corrections/improvements, and I might plan to make a new FET release in about 3 days (near 1 September). Kindly please let me know if we'll include Turkish with it; what are your plans/progress?

I have finished the translation and attached the relevant file. Since it was a long translation, I am concerned that the syntax integrity of the translation file may have been compromised (eg., <context> tag missing). I hope this is not the case.

I just updated your file. There were I think about 400 new fields. I hope and planned to make a release on 9 October 4 in the morning, Romania time, which is in about 36 hours from now. So, if you would like a complete Turkish, please try to do this. I can wait some more if needed, but, as usual, I just hope to release as soon as possible.

Things for you:

1) Check your credits: your name, your email address, "assisted by AI" - which AI?. OK? Changes needed? Is your name Erdem Uygun, or Uygun Erdem? My family name is Lalescu, and first name Liviu, and I write Liviu Lalescu in my credits. I wrote Erdem Uygun for now.

2) Turkish (the language name) - how do you write it in Turkish?

3) I can see in the main form, "Space" is untranslated (the space constraints tab).

4) (Try to) complete the remaining fields.

   current translator: Erdem Uygun (assisted by ChatGPT) (uygun.erdem AT proton.me) - rewrote the translation from zero

Your file is corrupt. I am sorry, but I cannot use it. There is missing a "</message>" string, and also there are other problems. For instance, search "numerus" in another finished translation (like ro), and see the needed format. I tried to run lupdate on your file after I added the missing "</message>" and I got some obsolete and new fields shown.

To verify, please check that all fields are translated (search for "><" without quotes in the XML file), and also check that there are no problems/warnings when you open your file in Qt Linguist.

If not, then the attempt to translate the application into Turkish has failed for now.

OK, I will check it now and try to correct if there are problems. Please tell me if you can open/use Qt Linguist, in case there are minor things to correct. I think the numerus translations are problematic, and you need to translate these from Qt Linguist - but they are not too many, maybe 10-20.

QT Linguist only showed warnings for duplicates in the file I last uploaded.

I think you'll understand what it says better when you open the file with Qt Linguist.

Thank you for your work! I ran lupdate on your file, and I don't know for sure why I got ~30 obsolete fields (which I removed automatically, so they don't bother you) and ~40 new fields, of which ~30 were already filled in.

I attach the updated file. The thing is that there are some slightly wrong fields, like %100 instead of 100%. Could you please try to correct these fields? I would do that myself, but I have no knowledge of Turkish language and might make mistakes. Every field must be finished and correct, so it will have a green flag, not red or yellow.

The %n fields I think in Turkish have a single form, unlike in other languages, so maybe no big problems here.

There are quite many fields with warning/error in Linguist, but I hope the work to correct them is not so hard.

I will try to follow this topic and help you if you need advice.

All the fields are translated, now. But: there are many fields with yellow, like in my screenshot. All these should be made green. Qt Linguist shows you the reason, on the bottom right. Please let me know if you want more details. In this particular case, you should write "100%", not "%100".

PS: If you can solve the problems, I will do my best to release as soon as possible a new version, with your translation.

PPS: After you solve the problems, maybe you could have a look practically at FET with your Turkish - the most important are the constraints' menus, and also maybe you can open the 4 fet files in translations directory and check for consistence. I know it is time consuming and difficult, and I am sorry for this.

Edited to add: if you open the 4 fet files in the translations directory, you need to check the All time/space constraints dialogs, and see each constraint's description (on the left) and detailed description (on the right).

Only as your time permits, check the menus of time and space constraints, at least in the Official mode (there are 4 modes), and also open the 4 fet files in "translations" directory, and see the All time and space constraints dialogs (two dialogs), on the left there is the short description of the constraint, and if you click on the constraint you'll get on the right the detailed description.

I will try to make a new release maybe even tomorrow or in 2 days, hoping it will be a useful new feature for Turkish users.

I saw 4 fet files in fet-7.5.2.tar.bz2 archive file, but I dont know how to open FET application with my current ts file. I have Linux Mint 22.2.

First of all, it is good, but there is a mix up of %5 -> in about 40 places it is 5% instead. I ran lupdate and saw this. Could you check and correct?

Then, you will need to run lrelease on your file (this is a command-line program), or release from Qt Linguist (I think it is a direct menu option from Linguist). If you cannot, I can do that for you. You will obtain fet_tr.qm. Overwrite the official file in fet-7.5.2/translations, and open FET-7.5.2 in Turkish, and then open in turn each of the 4 fet files (for instance, test-all-constraints-official.fet is the most important), and see what I wrote above.

You will need fet-7.5.2-bin.tar.bz2 - in the AppImage you cannot overwrite the qm Turkish file. In that bin archive, after you unpack, look in fet-7.5.2/usr/bin/translations directory.

I managed to open 4 fet files with the recent Turkish ts file. Menus in general and constraint menus looked okey to me.

I will do my best. But I would need you to correct that problem I told you ("5%" should be "%5" in about 40 strings). I discovered it by running lupdate from Qt, it discovered ~40 new strings and said ~40 were obsolete. It is in the English original and I think also in your Turkish.

So, could you also correct this problem?

Edit: did you also have a look at each constraint in the All time/space constraints dialog? It is most important there. Short description and detailed description for each constraint.

If you cannot do this further change, I'll wait for a suitable time for you. No hurry now.

It says there are 58 occurrences of 5% in the file Liviu. When opened with qt linguist, however, it shows all green.

Yes I checked, they seemed okey to me.

I will run lupdate on your latest file and attach it here. The wrong ones will appear "vanished", and the new correct ones will appear untranslated. Is that good for you?

I attached the latest lupdate-d file, as I wrote above. There were 48 wrong fields.

Yes, Qt Linguist shows them in green, but the problem is that also the English originals are wrong (5% instead of %5). Note: I think there are a few legitimate places for "5%".
