Title: Subject not allowed in certain room(s)
Post by: liquid on May 03, 2018, 06:31:35 AM
I understand the purpose of constraint "A subject has preferred room / set of preferred rooms". Sometimes it would be convenient to set a subject is disallowed in a room or a set of. Is it possible?

Maybe i misunderstood:
If you want to DISallow room A you only need to add a constraint preferred roomS and add all other rooms but not room A.

Sure, that's possible. I thought about convenience. If you have 50 rooms and want to disallow a subject to be in e.g. 2 rooms it would be easier to specify that this subject may not be held in these two rather than may be held in other 48. I guess it's a matter of a check box which would negate the choice.

Ah. ok.

on hand not too critical, because you normaly only do it a few times in the whole life of the school.

but you are right. it can be currently a bit long to add.

Liviu:
there are also a lot of other variants how to add it:
a) (liquid suggestions) combobox with opposite. migth be critical for users and algorithm, since both must care about that correct.

b)use a multiple / extrended selection mode? So a user can select all very very fast and just deleselct the opposite one.
b1) in fact the second combobox is unneeded than
b2) but you can of course keep the second one. it is maybe nice to prevend the user from incorrect clicks.

c) add a "add all" button. so you can "add all" and delete the other later.

by the way "clear" should be maybe "clear all", since it clears all even only one is selected. clearing one is possible "only" if you doubleclick.

I prefer not to add it now. Let me know if you want me to add this in the TODO.

I am currently not sure what the best variant is. Let's hear the opinion from other users and add the best variant into TODO in a few days.
