Title: class schedule
Post by: optimostech on December 27, 2018, 07:04:21 PM
Good day,
I wish to be able to do the following:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
(7: 00-7: 40)
(8: 20-9: 00)
(9: 40-10: 05) playtime
(10: 05-10: 45)
(10: 45-11: 25)
(11: 25-12: 00)
(12: 00-12: 25) playtime
(12: 25-13: 00)
(13: 00-13: 35)
(13: 35-14: 10)

Wednesday
(7: 00-7: 30)
(7: 30-8: 00)
(8: 00-8: 30)
(8: 30-9: 00)
(9: 00-9: 20) playtime
(9: 20-9: 50)
(9: 50-10: 20)
(10: 20-10: 50)
(10: 50-11: 10) playtime
(11: 10-11: 40)
(11: 40-12: 10)
(12: 10-12: 35)

How can I make this possible?
Regards,

Hello,

I am not sure I understand exactly the problems involved. But can't you consider each interval a FET hour, add the number of hours per day = 12, and add a constraint break forbidding the recreations and Mo, Tu, Th, Fr last two hours?

FET operates in a matrix of days x hours. You cannot change that but, if the above does not work we may try to find other tricks.

Don't call the hours by the start and endtime in fet.
Just call them "1", "2", ...
I am not sure if you need to enter the playtime. I need more information for that. You should start without the playtime.
So you need only 10 fet hours.

You need to tag all activities that are not allowed Wednday. Maybe call it "not W".
You need to tag all activities that should be placed on Wednday. Maybe call it "W".

Use constraint activities prefered starting time fot Tag "W" and place the allowed starting times.
Do it similar with "not W".

The problem is the following: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday school hours are 40 minutes, Wednesdays are 30 minutes. How can I make this possible?

I do not understand. You can name the hours in FET 1, 2, ..., 12, and consider it a matrix of 5 days x 12 hours. Why doesn't this approach work?

Ok. For example:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday the first hour is at 7:00 AM - 7:40 AM
Wednesday the first hour is at 7:00 AM - 7:30 AM

FET is able to handle different schedules on a day of the week?
Attach Image of the software aSc Timetables.

yes, of course.
You only need to tag the activities.
For example tag the 30 minutes activities with activity tag "30".
Similar to the 40 minutes activities.
Then use activities preferred times constraint and allow 30 minutes activities only on WED.
Use an other activities preffered times constraint and allow the 40 minutes activities only the other days.

Excellent, Do you have an example to see the steps to follow in this configuration?

See the attached file:
In that example English won't be ever on Wednesday.
Math will be exactly one time on Wednesday and 2 times on other days.
Sports will be on Wednesday only.
Art will won't be on Wednesday.
