I want to know the best open source school/college information management software. I have seen the links given on Liviu's webpage. However, want to know which one is most user-friendly and provide maximum functionalities. Which one would you prefer/refer most?
I am asking only for information purpose. I am not a potential customer for any sale :)
I simply want to know the 'FET' of college information management domain.
A lot of schools "must" use "official" school management software. There is no real choice for them.

I fear a bit it will stay like that in many countries, because most of that software is not only adding a students name. It is also caring about the whole reports / credentials / information to the government / report about teachers extra work / ... stuff and there are a lot of different and complicated rules for that in many countries.
In our country, India, I don't know if such compulsion is there for schools. However, our's is a technical university which is autonomous.
I just asked it for information purpose and to check options/features.
