Hi,
Allow me first to congratulate Liviu Lalescu and Volker Dirrfor for such useful software and the online support. FET has helped our institution create very handy timetables. Chapeau!
I am trying to create activities that occur every second week. I still do not have clarity on how to do this although I have gone through the fortnight FAQ and forum posts. (tried the workaround option 2 here: https://www.timetabling.de/manual/FET-manual.en.html#id_36, no luck)
If I create a schedule of 2 weeks in the calendar, the activities on the second week are not placed in the same slots as those in week 1. I need all activities to be the same blocks on both weeks.
For example:
French will have 4 hours a week for Grade 8 with Monsieur Eiffel, + one extra hour every second week. (ie week A 4 hours, week B 5 hours)
How do I add this extra hour on a second week but keeping both week activities equally distributed?
Thank you.
Warm regards,
Amaro
You can try something like this
Number of FET days /week = 2* No of real working days / each week (i.e. if you have 5 days week, then the no of FET days per week = 10)
create the French (or any other) activity split into 9 sub activities of duration 1 (or as per requirement).
1) Use the time constraint "A set of sub-activities has preferred time slots" and select all the slots of the first week for the first 4 sub-activities, and the slots of the second week for the remaining 5 sub activities. (This will ensure that 4 lectures are scheduled in the first week and 5 lectures are scheduled in the second week)
2) Now, constrain 1st and 5th subactivities to have the same starting time. Similarly. 2nd and 6th, 3rd and 7th and finally 4th and 8th (This will ensure they will be scheduled at the same time)
3) Add minimum days and maximum days (this should be same of the number of actual working days per week) (both should be same, i.e. 5 if 5 days/week) between sub activities 1st and 5th, 2nd and 6th, 3rd and 7th finally 4th and 8th (this will ensure they will be scheduled on a similar day of the week i.e. day-1, day-2 etc)
This is just what I can think. I am sure, Liviu/Volker might have a very easy solution
Hello and thank you for the appreciation!
1) https://lalescu.ro/liviu/fet/forum/index.php?topic=351.0 (now there is also a constraint activities occupy max different rooms).
or
2) Add the fortnightly activity on a 5 days timetable, and consider that in the other week it does not appear (read "fortnightly" FAQ - but you said you already did this).
