When I select Arabic language for FET, the date and time in the generated timetables are in eastern Arabic numerals. Is there a way to display them in Western Arabic numerals?
Hello,
@wldchtgmlcm ,
Thank you for your interest! I will consider your problem.
@Volker Dirr ,
@Benahmed Abdelkrim , what do you suggest? Could we add, like en_GB, an ar_DZ and ar_MA, with only a few translated fields?
PS: I will move your post to the Suggestions board.
Hmm, it won't work. If we want to make an ar_DZ or ar_MA translation, we need to make these files the same as ar. This means a double (triple) work for the Arabic translator and double (triple) files.
A solution might be to have the language ar_DZ and ar_MA to only load the locale and use the ar translation.
I wonder why there is a duality in the numbers used?, the version number in Arabic numbers, while the date and time are written in Indian (or Oriental) numbers. I think it is very useful to avoid this duality and to be content only with Arabic (so-called Western) numbers, which are universal and understood by all users, unlike Indian (or Eastern) numbers, their use is rare and keeps decreasing. I think that a single translation file taking into account the Arabic numbers will be more than enough.
I will try tomorrow (I also tried today, without satisfaction). The reason is that I tried to keep the file fet_ar. I could very easily rename to fet_ar_DZ, but won't this upset Moroccan users or other countries? What locale is default with Western without specifying the country?
I did it with tricks: https://lalescu.ro/liviu/fet/download/test/
Please let me know.
Congratulations!
The operation was successful.
Thank you, dear Liviu. :)
You are welcome! :)

Maybe you can name it Maghrebi Arabic or Northwest African Arabic.

Unfortunately, these two options are not available in Qt. I just kept it Arabic, and the internal representation will use ar_DZ locale. Thank you for the suggestion!

Darren will probably compile it soon after the official release of FET-6.3.3, which I hope will be on Monday, 18 April, or a bit later.
WOW! Excellent. I can not wait to see. Thanks.
You are welcome! :)
Hello,
@wldchtgmlcm , I just released the new official version, FET-6.3.3. After Darren will update it, you will be able to use the Mac OS X version.
Thank you dear Liviu 🙂
Great news. Thank you so much.

Hi! I've just downloaded FET 6.3.3 for macOS and generated a new timetable. Now date and time are in Arabic numerals and this is great. Again, Thank you very much.
