I notice that many people are using GNU/Linux and precompiled packages for FET. Unfortunately, some of these these are older versions of FET (some very old). If possible, please recommend these distributions to update their FET package.
If the latest FET version is not available precompiled for your GNU/Linux operating system, I recommend you to compile the latest tar.bz2 from the FET homepage.
Edited to add: an exception is the PLD GNU/Linux distribution, which has always the latest FET version, thanks to our contributor, Zsolt Udvari.
