Good day, how do I stop the programme from giving me 3 lessons in a subject in a day? One is a double lesson which is okay, but I have an extra lesson I must get rid of.
By increasing the min day constraint from 95% to 100%
Hello,
Either modify constraint min days between activities to 100%, or use students/teachers activity tag max hours daily.
Or, if you added the activities 2+1+1+1 95%, add the activities 1+1+1+1+1 80% or something like that.
Thank you. I will try the suggestions. The problem is that we have more lessons than days in all subjects, so they will invariably have a double lesson which is good, but a triple lesson is purgatory!
You're welcome!
If you can allow only one with duration 2, add 2+1+1+1+1 100%. If you can allow more with duration 2, add 1+1+1+1+1+1 80% or some weight <100%. FET will never put more than 2 subactivities on the same day, by design.
Or use students/teachers activity tag max hours daily (much more work).

Lemmie use an example to give what i would if in your situation. If its maths 7 sessions to be taught from Mon-Fri, have maths 5 sessiins and maths 2 sessions.
Ensure all maths and maths 2 have activity tag named maths and maths 2.Give constraint of students max hours daily to be 1.That way, maths will be taught daily. Maths 2 will be additional.
To ensure they don't appear as double sessions, give constraint of students min gaps between activity tags to be 2.That way, your issue is sorted out.
You are sure you want to have gaps between the lessons if they are on the same day? I guess you talk about a primary school? In my opinion the best variant is always forcing it to have no gaps at all if on the same day in a secondary school. I definitely prefer in that case adding an activity with 2+2+1+1+1 with 100% min day constraint (or maybe even 2+2+2+1 with 100% min day constraint in higher years). And with older students i even prefer 3+2+2 with 100% min day constraint.
