Title: I can't generate the full schedule
Post by: Jose J. on September 03, 2024, 06:07:41 AM
Hello everyone,
I have used FET to make the schedules of my center the last two years. But this year it's proving impossible for me. No matter how much I modify the restrictions or the conditions, it is about 20 activities away from reaching total generation.
The point is that I don't know what I should correct because each time a different activity appears to me that generates conflict. Also, by disabling restrictions I get worse results and I don't know how to fix it.
Could someone help me?

Hello,

You can send us/me your fet file and tell me which constraints should remain fixed and which can be relaxed.

Hello, I attach the schedule in the FET format. Thanks a lot!

1) You have 11 locking time constraints with "permanently locked=false". Maybe you need to unlock these? For ids 66 and 70 you have for instance two constraints for preferred time(s).

2) Your second constraint min simultaneous is useless and only slowing the generation, because min 1 simultaneous and allow empty slots is trivial.

3) I modified the weights of you min days, and I obtained the attached file and solution. Maybe it is acceptable.

Thank you very much for the answer, it has helped me a lot. The document you send me may be worth making some small modifications that the algorithm has not respected in terms of minimum days.

From your explanation, I understand the relaxation of the weight of minimum days (3) and removing the restriction of minimum 1 and allowing empty slots (2). But what I don't understand is how to modify 'permanently locked=false' locks (1). Could you tell me where they are taken from?

You are welcome!

(1) -> constraints activity preferred starting time. They come from locking in the timetable view. You can unlock them in Timetable -> Unlock all activities.
