Title: No tfree days
Post by: ychs22 on October 03, 2024, 03:21:10 PM
I am being tasked with generating a timetable with most people not having any free days. I have tried, and its almost impossible. Any help would be helpful. When I try to attach, it says my file is too large. The fet file is 1.3 MB in size.  I had to zip it.

I see that the timetable is locked (it is a solution file). I also see that the majority of teachers have no free days. The constraint to be added is teacher min days per week.

I will try to add the constraints of type teacher min 5 days per week for all the teachers, and let you know my opinion, if it is possible or not.

I will now leave for a walk, I'll answer a few hours later.

I obtained something. I added min 5 days per week for all the teachers, and relaxed this constraint for the obvious teachers. Then all I needed, observed practically by the impossibility, is to also relax for Steer D from 5 to 4. I attach the file and a solution.

Note: you can ignore the warning when opening the attached files, it is the future FET version from my hard disk.

Thanks for trying, but I still see several teachers with totally free day. There are a few people who must have free day(s). These  day or days are are deliberately blocked. Its the other teachers who shouldn't have free day(s) who I am trying to prevent. They should have at least one  teaching activity on all five days. Anyway, thanks for trying.

PS I have four instances of the fet generating. Hopefully I will eventually get what I want.
