Title: Couldn't find the constraints in FET
Post by: DucBeNho on March 18, 2025, 04:32:17 AM
Hi
We have many constraints in my timetable but we couldn't find the same in FET. Pls give me suggestions.
These are the constraints:

- Teachers don't teach through noon (no teaching in last period at morning and first period at afternoon)
- Students don't study through noon (no studying in last period at morning and first period at afternoon on same subject)
- Students only study 1 period of a subject per day (which subject).
- Students only study 2 periods of a subject per day (which subject).
- Students only study at morning (which subject)
- Students only study at afternoon (which subject)

Hello!

Are you using the Official or the Mornings-Afternoons mode?

Maybe:

1) Teachers max hours daily in hourly interval (if using Official mode), or n_days new constraints teachers pair of mutually exclusive time slots.

2) See (1). What means "on same subject"?

3) and 4) Add tags for the activities of these subjects and use constraints students activity tag max hours daily.

5) and 6) Activities preferred time slots.

2) "on same subject" means: example, class A doesn't study math in last time at morning and first time at afternoon. If class A has math time in last time at morning, no studying math in first time at afternoon

We will choose which subjects should not be studied through noon because studying difficult subjects through noon will be tiring.

This 2) is complicated. You could use many constraints activities occupy max time slots from selection, one for each subject, students set, day. Very many constraints to add.

I have another constraint. What s about:
Which subject if to be studied at morning, do not study at afternoon; and if to be studied at afternoon, do not study at morning

If you use the Mornings-Afternoons mode (you did not answer which mode are you using):

You could add a special teacher only for each subject and students set, and add this teacher in these activities, and make the Mornings-Afternoons mode of this teacher Exclusive mornings-afternoons (Morocco).

Or, if it is simpler, just 100% min 1 days between the activities of that subject. This way, it won't allow more subactivities on the same real day.

Yeh, I use morning-afternoon mode.

We are doing a huge project that requires FET. My timetable will be free for all schools in Vietnam. If this project can be successful, we will donate to you.
Thanks a lot for your help.
