Title: Timetable framing for SEC
Post by: JOYAL ISAC S on July 11, 2025, 12:35:48 PM
"I am in the process of designing a timetable for 180 students enrolled in five courses, each facilitated by different faculty members. The fifth course will be co-taught by two faculties: Faculty X, who will handle one slot, and Faculty Y, who will handle two slots. I would like to schedule Faculty X's slot and the first slot handled by Faculty Y at the same time."

How to do it in FET.

I am not sure I understand correctly. Do you have 3 activities: A1 (Student S, Faculty X), A2 (Student S, Faculty Y), and A3 (Student S, Faculty Y), each with duration 1? Then simply same starting time for A1 and A2. This even works if A2 has duration 2 and A3 does not exist.

Also, you could think of adding A1, A2, and A3 in a constraint activities occupy max time slots from selection, select with X (red) all slots, and max occupied = 2.
