Title: Inclusion of AI into the FET software
Post by: Roshan Ali on May 25, 2026, 07:10:17 PM
As we know that its era of AI. All software makers are trying to add AI one way or the other to their software. I have seen so many old software now they have AI added. We want you to add AI to FET too. For example we could write all our constraints in a chat like box and hit enter and the FET automatically add those constraints. Or I ask FET to guide me how to make a specific kind of timetable (I will write the scenario) and it explains to me. It will be like AI help. There could be so many possibilites.

Sadly a very big task. You can't just add a text editor and add an already existing LLM. It won't work that way.

Hello, Roshan Ali!

First of all, I saw some of your videos on YouTube - I think you are Roshan Ali Academy? Thank you!

Yes, it's AI age, but I have no experience with it and I prefer to work with my own brain. I need to be in control of FET and of things in general. Yes, I am old-school, but that's me.

Also, I prefer to concentrate on the algorithm and the constraints.

Also, the fet data file is a simple enough XML-structured file, and you or other programmers could just generate a fet file with an external program, use FET or FET-CL (command-line) on it, and interpret the FET results with that external program.

Also, the lack of financial support is another big problem, but I cannot say with financial support we would try to implement your suggestion.

Also, I prefer efficiency and precision, and to guarantee that the product is from me and my collaborators.

I'll add your suggestion in the TODO list.

Well, his idea is not about the xml file. His idea is that you can write (or even speak) and just say "There is a new teacher at our school. Please add Mr. Smith. He is not available on Monday." and then the AI adds the teacher name and adds a not available time constraint.

Yes, I thought of this. Maybe somebody else could develop such an application and use FET just to generate the timetable.

Thank you dear Liviu Lalescu. Yes I am Roshan Ali Academy. I wonder how did you recognize me that I am the owner of that channel. I am grateful that you recognized me. I have two videos about FET on my channel. And currently the most watched videos. I appreciate your work. You are doing a great job without financial support. Thanks

Oh, please call me Liviu  :)

I use to search the internet for FET-related pages. I saw your videos and remembered your name. Thank you for teaching others how to use our program!

Thank you for your kind words!
