okay good point. Thanks for your guidance. once i am given the responsibility to generate for the full university I will share the file with you. The University till date was doing a manual method of making timetable. Sad!!!. I have joined only three weeks ago. Lets see how it goes.

A teacher has his daughter studying in the University. Now it is needed that the trip of the faculty member to bring his daughter to university and his lectures time are optimized so that no one has to wait unnecessary for other. How can this be possible. Any suggestions. I am also submitting the FET file by the name Musadiq in the timetable submission forum. The dauther is in year group of BBA06 and faculty member name is GhiasulHaq. Will appreciate quick response.

Yes if the days and room are both sorted and seperated it would be greatly helpful.  Like the putput I gave you. Day1 >> Rooms >> activities spread on time for each room. And repeated for each day.

Well the overlapping part you missed the point. I am not talking about the subjects of BBA08. But there are students of BBA 06 who are taking BBA08 courses and similarly BBA05 students taking BBA 06 courses. Overlapping was happing like this in many subjects. So that constraint was needed. If you check the subjects included in that contraints list you will see that they do not belong to common groups like bba08 but are referring to clash between activities relating to other groups.

Yes the file is small as I told you. I will keep you udated on the progress.

Well regarding output. It is not necessary to be excel. Do it in HTML form using script as you have been doing but somewhat like I shared would be really great.

Fet file attached. Also the restructured output of FET in excel that I did is also presented (File name Generated timetable with in the zipfile). Although it takes about 20 minutes for each output to be put there. So if FET can provide a more friendly output it will be great. You know people like shortcuts at all levels  .

Ok.  Well its a small timetable at the momoent as it has only 57 activities and is made for one department of the University. It was my first time using FET and really found it helpful although the presentation of the output file needs improvement. Specially if an acivity is of 2 or more duration why the name of that activity is mentioned in each time slot it is happening. Some mechanism of merging it and presenting it would be grate. I will aso pass you a resstructured designed that I translated from the output of FET to make it more friendly. Hope this can also be implemented. Regarding the file. The format supported to upload is zip and I have winrar installed. So now DLing Winzip...

And yes you can use it with FET no problem for me. No data issue as such. it could be a good example for overlapping activities. As the major issue was that. As students are allowed to retake subjects that they failed previously so that thy can complete the credit hours. Resulting in lot of subjects have overlapping students and henced can't be schedduled together. So the constraint activities can't overlap helped alot.
