I am a bit confused with core and thread.
My CPU is 10 Cores and 12 threads.
In FET (Generate multiple time tables), I can only specify the number of thread but not core.

1. How does increasing the number of thread help to get a faster solution?
2. Why setting time limit will get a faster results?
3. Mention "run it on as many cores as possible for 24 hours". How do I specify the number of cores?

I can understand the pro and con of using thread after reading the help.
I am trying 5 timetables with 6 thread.

I have the following questions.

1. Why are there 6 tabs? Isnt is 1 tab per time tables? or 1 tab per thread?
2. It show Time Table no 1. (Thread 1) completed. But why 1st tab is still generating.

Can help explain a bit more about multiple time table generation?

I have followed your instructions:

1. I install Qt 6.6.1 for MinGW 11.2.0 64bit, and in Tools I also install MinGW 11.2.0 64bit.
2. set PATH=D:\Qt\6.6.1\mingw_64\bin;D:\Qt\Tools\mingw1120_64\bin;%PATH%
3. qmake (or qmake fet.pro)
4. mingw32-make -j 16

I still have the same error during Step 4 that I open using QT.

Any advise?

Sorry for the non activity for so long. Was busy was school work and now is school holiday.
Would like to continue, try, learn and explore FET.
Would like to explore more in the creation of subgroups using CSV and import to bypass the huge number of subgroups that my school face.

I created a class for 1-R with 4 division. See Capture1.
Then I export and open the CSV file to see the file structure/content. See Capture2.
I went to add activities and managed to see the subgroups.
Then I close and start a new FET file, do an import for year, groups and subgroups using students.csv. See Capture4.
After import, I went to see class 1-R - the 4 division are not there. See Capture 5.
However, when I went add activities, the groups and subgroups name are still same as that in Capture 3.

The only difference is the 4 division is missing in the new file imported.
Is this correct and suppose to work this way?
