Get Help / Re: FET to Excel converter question
September 04, 2025, 10:50:38 AM
Thank you both. Sorry it's been a long time. I finally have the timetable and have time to focus on converting it to excel. The first screenshot is the correct timetable. If we look at the two lessons with the arrow, M-FCN and M-FCE are students, FC305 and FC306 are subject.

You cannot view this attachment.

Once I used FETtoExcelExporter I get this for student M-FCE and M-FCN. You will see that the lesson FC306 only shows on student M-FCE (as it's the first student listed in that lesson) but not on student M-FCN (who is listed as the second set of student on that lesson). The same for lesson FC305 which only shows on student M-FCN but not on student M-FCE.

I hope that makes sense. I'd appreciate any help. Thank you very much.

Get Help / FET to Excel converter question
August 15, 2025, 02:50:10 PM
Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the right place. I have tried FET to Excel and found that if the class has more than 1 group of students, only the first group is converted. For example,

Lesson 1 has teacher A and students Y1A and Y1B

In the excel of the teacher, it only shows student Y1A
The excel of student Y1A is correct, but the excel of student Y1B doesn't show this lesson at all.

I wonder if there is anything I can do to fix this.
Thank you very much.

Hello,

I come across another constraint that I couldn't work out how to set it in fet. I set max hrs daily for a student set to be 6 hrs. We get the timetable where students have 2 or 3 days of 6 hrs, and very little for the rest of the week. What we would like is students only have 6 hrs for a maximum one day per week as it's too tiring for them. Do I have to use min hrs daily =4 for example, so the lessons are distributed. Or is there a way to limit the max hrs constraint to 1 day, where fet is more free to put the rest anywhere without min hrs daily.

Thank you very much

Got it. Thank you.

Thank you. Do I have to do it one subject by subject? I have loads of subjects that I'd like it to happen this way.

Hello,

I think this constraint might suit my scenario but I'm not sure how to use it.

So each of our subjects have 4 hrs per week, split in to 2 of 2 hrs sessions. We want one session to be between 9:00-13:00 and the other session between 13:00-17:00. They should be on different days but I think this is already taken care of by min days between activities.

Is this the right constraint to use, if so I still don't know how to use 'component number (split index)' and 'duration'.

Thank you very much.

Get Help / Teacher works 4 consecutive days
November 16, 2024, 08:57:59 PM
Hi,

I have a teacher who works 4 days a week but wants either Mon or Fri off. How do I put this constraints.

They teach 18 hrs so I was thinking of using A set of activities occupies min time slots and choose Tues, Wed, Thurs to have 15 hrs, so fet put the other 3 hrs on either Mon or Fri. But I think that's too restrictive as either Mon or Fri can have upto 5 hours.

Thank you very much.

Get Help / Work in an hourly interval max days per week
November 16, 2024, 05:33:04 PM
Hi, I have a question regarding this constraint. Let's say most lessons are 2-hr long and I want student/teacher to only have lessons between 12-2pm for a maximum 1 day per week. Preferably lessons should be 10-12 follows by 1-3 or 11-1 follows by 2-4. But if we can't avoid it, 12-2 is ok but only 1 day a week max.

So I put in work in an hourly interval max days per week and select 12:00 as start and 14:00 and select 1 day. I found that most students now have a 2-hr lunch gap from 12-2 everyday. Is this because fet is trying not to put lessons during 12-2 at all? Preferably we want 1 hr lunch gap, either 12-1 or 1-2.

Do you have any suggestions what we should put in instead? Many thanks

Thank you. Option 1 seems straight forward so will do that. Thanks again.

Hello, we have about 800 activities to create in a short space of time so one person won't complete it in time. So we wonder if it's possible that we copy the original fet file that already has teachers students, subjects into multiple copies, and have a few people creating different activities in each fet file. Is there a way we can combine the activities created from multiple files into one file? Maybe export and then import or something. I'm thinking this will cause problems with activity ID, but maybe there is a way round it.

Many thanks

Thank you. I will try manually after the timetable is created.
