I work at a relatively small international school in Northern Thailand. (around 240 students and 28 teachers in secondary)
I have all my subjects (courses) and teachers in the system and am working on setting up activities. I'm having a problem figuring out how to subgroup students so it makes sense. For grades 7 and 8 they essentially move in groups (7a, 7b, etc) so that is easy. Where it gets complicated are setting up groups for students in grades 9 - 12 where they are in all different configurations.
What I did was set up all separate groups for grade level within a class and then assigned each of those to a specific activity. For example, the activity "statistics" will have the groups 10statistics and 11statistics and 12 statistics in that class. This is a major pain and then I don't know if its even going to work. Is this the only way to do this?
I attached our sample schedule. Classes without a grade level or grouping (i.e. 10a) are those that students in multiple grades (usually 10 - 12) can take. The numbers 1 - 4 following a name are class levels and numbers with a decimal are just indicating more than one section of a particular class. Finally, parenthesis indicate that these classes are offered opposite each other and therefore need to be offered at the same time.
Any help would be appreciated!!!!
Thank you, Jessica
