Hello everyone: new year, new schedule!
This year is even more difficult: we have 10 subjects in total (as last year) but we have to avoid having two specific subjects on the same day, due to the material to bring. Also they ask me to put the heavier subjects (Hard), 20 hours a week, in the first hours compared to the lighter ones (Soft) that take up 10 hours a week. Could you help me insert these rules into FET?

Ho portato il limite a 3000 ed a me sembra funzionare.
Non l'ho testato completamente: verifica tu se il risultato è quello che ti aspetti.

Se a qualcuno interessa ho reso il foglio Excel compatibile per Mac.
Potete trovarlo qui.
Non ho verificato che fossero presenti le modifiche che avete riportato sopra. Nel caso modificatelo pure e ripostatelo.

Ci ho lavorato una sera e spero che funzioni per tutti.
A me gira sia su PC che su Mac, con un excel aggiornato ad oggi.
Per usarlo, ricordatevi di abilitare le macro. Non l'ho provato con la conversione UTF8: a me non serviva.

Funziona come quello per windows: Scrivere il nome della scuola e l'anno scolastico, cliccare sul bottone e scegliere il file <xxx>_data_and_timetable.fet (con il file <xxx>_activities.xml nella stessa cartella). Attendere che il messaggio dica di avere finito. Su Mac non sfarfalla come su windows, quindi ho aggiunto una pop-up alla fine dell'elaborazione.

Segnalatemi per favore eventuali anomalie.

Ciao a tutti
provo ad allegarvi il mio file, che ho usato e funziona su Windows 11 ed Excel di Microsoft 365 Versione 2408 (se non l'ultima, una delle ultime). Ha qualche problema con l'apostrofo, ma un trova e sostituisci sul risultato può risolvere il problema.

RICORDATEVI DI ABILITARE LE MACRO DEL FOGLIO EXCEL!

Ovviamente manderò una copia ad albanom@cdh.it, come indicato nella pagina di partenza.
L'utilizzo è semplice: una volta generato l'orario, andate nello sheet partenza e premete il bottone GO!
Selezionate poi il file *_data_and_timetable.fet presente nella cartella di generazione (sotto fet-results) e.. GO!: parte il popolamento di excel.

Good morning everyone,
we have arrived at the generation of the new timetable and my first experience with FET, with which I have done some tests and it seems to me to be done very well.
However, I have difficulties with the provisional timetable, i.e. the first week of school, of the lower secondary school for which I am generating the timetable.

The timetable throughout the year is divided into 5 days for 6 hours per day for a total of 30 hours/week.
The first week of school has a gradual start, differentiated by class, for a total of 22 hours.

• Thursday 3 hours: the first classes from the third to the fifth hour, the second and third classes from the second to the fourth hour;
• Friday and Monday 4 hours: all from the first to the fourth hour;
• Tuesday 5 hours: everyone from first to fifth period;
• From Wednesday onwards all 6 hours.

How can I set the Thursday rule?

Furthermore, on Thursday in the first classes I would like there to be at least two hours of Italian and one of the two hours was in the presence of another teacher.
How can I set it?

Buongiorno a tutti,
siamo arrivati alla generazione del nuovo orario ed alla mia prima esperienza con FET, con il quale ho fatto alcune prove e mi sembra fatto veramente molto bene.
Ho delle difficoltà però con l'orario provvisorio, ossia la prima settimana di scuola, della scuola secondaria di primo grado per cui sto generando l'orario.

L'orario a regime è suddiviso in 5 giorni per 6 ore al giorno per un totale di 30 ore.
La prima settimana di scuola ha un inizio graduale, differenziato per classi, per un totale di 22 ore.

• Giovedì 3 ore: le classi prime dalla terza alla quinta ora, le classi seconde e terze dalla seconda alla quarta ora;
• Venerdì e Lunedì 4 ore: tutti dalla prima alla quarta ora;
• Martedì 5 ore: tutti dalla prima alla quinta ora;
• Da Mercoledì in poi tutti 6 ore.

Come posso impostare la regola del Giovedì?

Inoltre al Giovedì nelle classi prime vorrei che ci fossero almeno due ore di italiano e una delle due ore fosse in compresenza con un'altro docente.
Come posso impostarlo ?

we want to present to the school director all the constraints introduced to calculate the timetable. Is there a way to extract them in a presentable way, or at least interpretable and translatable from an Excel, like a CSV file?

I apologize for writing directly to Liviu, without thinking that my question could be useful to someone else in any way. Here is the summary of our conversation:

I've asked if it is possible to tell the system to avoid putting "hard" subjects on the same day: for example, avoid putting mathematics and literature on the same day.

We have also set a limit of two free hours per week. The system tends to put them together, but we would like to break them. Is it possible to request to break them?

For the first problem, you can add all such hard activities for each students set in a constraint min days between activities, or tag these activities with "Hard" and use students activity tag max hours daily.

For the second problem, either max gaps per day = 1 (but this is stronger than you want), or add two dummy activities for each teacher, and min 1 gaps between them.

My name is Andrea, and I'm trying to help my wife, a middle school teacher, build next year's school timetable using FET. The timetable is spread over five days with six hours each day. They gave me a series of constraints that I don't know how to insert.
In particular:

• Those who teach in the first hour do not teach in the sixth hour;
• There are no more than three first hours per week;
• Preferably the empty hours are two consecutive;
• Anyone who teaches 9 hours a week (part-time) teaches 3 days a week.

Could someone help us insert them into FET?
