Since 2003 I use my own program that I created with VBA excel to compose a generation schedule automatically. I do not immediately use a FET as the difficulty of entering data and constrains that too much. But this was 2 years later I choose to use a FET to compile timetable for my school that developing  buildings and has many far-flung. With the FET process becomes easy and fast generate.

One solution to enter data by importing files. csv or .txt "students" and "activities" is a file "subject", "tag activity" would develop its own.
I created a program "csv maker" using VBA excel to create the file .csv or .txt (notepad compatible).
First enter the data classes, subjects, teachers and teaching contracts. Run the macro it and at the root of c: \ will create the file (students.txt, eng) or "siswa.txt" (id)  and (activities.txt, eng) or "kegiatan.txt" (id) . Then enter your csv data with import this file to FET.

You can change / modify as needed.
