hmm... black is too aggressive. maybe only "silver" or off by default or optional.

I don't remeber exatly the code.

Was "dummyTd" only used for this separation?

In that case it is easy. Change:

QString TimetableExport::dummyTd(int nSpacesBefore)
{
    return QString(nSpacesBefore, ' ')+QString("<td></td>")+QString("\n");
}

into something like:

QString TimetableExport::dummyTd(int nSpacesBefore)
{
    return QString(nSpacesBefore, ' ')+QString("<td class=\"daySeparator\"></td>")+QString("\n");
}

and then it is possible to change the background color by the css file with:

td.daySepataror {

}

Chat-gpt also thinks fi1b is not needed. I sent Liviu a mail short before you wrote :-)

With MacOS, after coping the translations into the fet.app, it worked fine from the terminal and with links, even from other folders. I didn't tried more strange stuff like starting from write protected folder and starting from a cloud directory via web browser.

Read https://doc.qt.io/qt-6/qdir.html#canonicalPath

The problem is, that on some operating systems the return path might be empty.

I decided to recode that part. So far I calculate the tag "on the fly", but at nearly all places I already use cached data. I will add that flag to the cached data and pre-calculate it.
Small disadvantage: As soon as the setting for the tag will be changed, the cache must be updated. (But user will probably rarely do that and probably don't notice that it is slower, since computers are so fast today.)
Advantage: Less code at many other places and faster execution (Even this is probably not noticeable for a human, since computers are so fast today.)
I will let you know when I am ready. Sadly this week is sadly again much to do. Hopefully next weekend.

You can do similar stuff by using tools like kdiff.
see https://download.kde.org/stable/kdiff3/

(or the older version https://kdiff3.sourceforge.net/ )

Tips and Tricks / Re: Teacher
October 02, 2026, 07:14:43 PM
In fact here might be a "thinking" bug with "A teacher commutes by bus and always has to start teaching during the first period.".

Example:
The bus arrives for the 1st hour and it leaves after the 5th hour.
He work 4 hours that day.
So in fact it doesn't matter if he has got free the 1st, 2nd, 3th, 4th or 5th hour. In each of this examples he must wait 1 hour. He will not save time if his gap is in the 2nd hour. This is just a psychological "bug" in human brains. Measuring the time with a clock will show you that he doesn't work more or less by that and he doesn't save time by traveling.

So this might be only true, if you also use 0 gaps constraint and if there is no gap after work also.

Removing one constraint doesn't say how long a guy work on this. If it was such an easy task I wonder why you didn't remove that constraint. Removing a single constraint means: Checking the forum regularly, read the question, download the file, open the file, check what is wrong (reading an unknown data set first), write an answer. ...

By the way: We also code many hours, read many hours, help many hours, translate many hours, .... Pay for current, web server, ... If guys pays only the "exact" price for "their" work I wonder who will pay for all the work we done before already. What do you guess how much work is it if we for example only fix a simple misspelling in FET? So fixing, preparing all different download versions and upload them here and on other locations (like Sourceforge, Windows Store, ...)

Let me see my "income" so far:
20 years of work on FET with in total 30€ donations from other guys (and only one guy that payed me for his request of coding; that single guy paid me ok), but I also pay the mirror web server out of my personal money. With that donated money I can run the sever ~3 month. Huhh... who payed all the other months? Who payed the books that I read? Who payed the money that I donated to Liviu in the last years to support him (I supported him even I contributed myself a lot of stuff to FET myself for everybody, ...)? ... I wonder sometimes how Open Source users think...

I started coding but I can't finish it today,
It is more work then I thought.
I need to do it for:
a) substitution and timetables
b) GUI and html export and printing

So I must do that at a lot of places.

I done it for html timetables right now. I still need to do it for the 3 other variants.
I also noticed a bug:
It is currently only correct, if the supervision hours are symmetric in the morning and in the afternoon. I also need to fix that first before continue coding the other 3 parts. Sadly guys might have added different number of supervision hours if they imported an MA FET timetable. I need to care about that also.

Sadly I have tomorrow no time to code and today is already too late to continue work.
So I can't finish this work before the weekend.

Sorry Benahmed, but I don't have holiday at the moment, so it is impossible for me to finish this task on a single day.

I am just home from work. Sorry for delay.

I am not sure if i understood correct.
Are you talking about TiTiTo -> Settings -> Comments -> Automatic Appendend
So the last option you also want to have for Morning?

hmm... I must think about. In fact after the import TiTiTo doesn't know anymore that you are using MA mode, since it is converted internally into a "normal day". hmm.... I must just do it also for the the 1st half of the day.

Tagging with the same string or do you need an other string for that?

The advantage of FET Substitutions Manager is, that it is for free and it is running with a web browser.
Maybe compare it with TiTiTo. That is more powerful (e.g. you can even move a longer chain of activities for substitution, ...) but it is not free nor running in a web browser.
Since we don't know your exact needs you might just try both to find out what software fits more your need.

About your substitution request:
See here in the forum under "FET Tools".

Get Help / Re: Assigning Lunch times
September 11, 2026, 05:12:42 PM
As long as the full time working teachers are nearly always at school, your variant is fine.
as soon as some part time working teachers are not at school during lunch, your variant can conflict with gap constraints or free days constraints.
Specifically for those teachers is better to give him just a lunch gap by using
teacher occupies max times from a selection. so select the 2 lunch hours of Monday and set max  1 hour. repeat it for every day. maybe just do it for all teachers (so don't do your variant with activities for lunch); so you need to add only 5 new constraints like this.

Italian / Italiano / Re: Prime ore per verifiche
September 08, 2026, 06:49:07 PM
Quote from: AndreaMIT on September 08, 2026, 05:56:18 PMUn insegnante di matematica (o di italiano) vorrebbe che almeno due ore consecutive delle sei che deve fare in una classe cadano nelle prime quattro ore.

Set the first subactivity with duration 2, keep the other 4 subactivities duration 1. So 2+1+1+1+1=6

Then use the time constraint like i showed it in the video, so the 1st subactivity of Math with duration 2 will be always in the first 3 hours.
