Messages - MOHAMED AIT ICHOU

Yes, I know that this is already possible using the **Up** and **Down** buttons in the Teachers dialog. However, this approach is not practical when dealing with a large number of teachers, as each teacher has to be moved manually.

My suggestion is intended to provide a simpler and more organized way of displaying the data. Grouping teachers by subject would make navigation much easier, improve readability, and save time, especially in large schools. This is the main idea behind my feature request, rather than simply changing the order of teachers.

I will add your suggestion in the TODO.

Questions/answers:

1. "large number of" - what large number of? Teachers?

2. What means to group the teachers? Like the students, but only with two levels? Or just to make teachers of a certain category be adjacent? You could use the Up/Down buttons in Teachers dialog, and even add the name of the category as a dummy teacher, before the group of teachers (as I learned from @yush ).

1.especially in schools with a large number of teachers.
2. I mean grouping teachers by subject. For example:

Geography

Teacher 1
Teacher 2
Teacher 3

History

Teacher 4
Teacher 5

This would make the teacher lists much easier to browse and manage.
The attached image illustrates what is required.

Add an option to group teachers by subject in the following FET sections:

Timetable → Teachers → Days Vertical
Data → Teachers

This would make it easier to navigate and manage teachers, especially in schools with a large number of teachers

Suggestions / making the color selection option
July 18, 2025, 11:24:12 AM
Hello Mr. Liviu,
I hope you are well. I kindly suggest making the color selection option apply to all windows. In other words, when colors are chosen, they should be applied to all constraints. In the latest versions, we have to reselect the colors each time we access a constraint, which is not a pleasant experience.

You can leave it as it is now, it is clear to those who use the program normally.

Snapshots / Re: FET-6.23.0 snapshot available

The point is that we need to develop printing so that we do not need external applications for printing as is the case in Morocco, where most users use a special Excel file for printing because it provides aesthetics in printing.

Quote from: Liviu Lalescu on August 16, 2024, 12:56:46 PMI have put a new snapshot. From the ChangeLog:

  - Very rare but critical crash bugs fixed, in the Mornings-Afternoons mode (reported by Anonymous participant on a Facebook group about scheduling).
  - Very rare crash bugs fixed (if printing the teachers'/students' statistics and the radio button 'Days vertical' was selected, the program crashed).
  - Minor bug fixes and improvements in the output of the timetables.
  - The printing of the timetables from the interface now works also when using a right-to-left writing system (suggested by Benahmed Abdelkrim, Mohamed Ait Ichou, and maybe other users in the past). An exception is when printing the statistics.
  - Updated the Brazilian Portuguese translation, by Alexandre R. Soares.

Please test the HTML timetables on the disk and in the Print from the interface menu, because the program code was deeply changed (but the HTML results should look similar). I hope to release as soon as possible, maybe even tomorrow.

The link, as usual: https://lalescu.ro/liviu/fet/download/test/

The version has been tested and works well, although the printing still needs better development in future versions.

Quote from: Liviu Lalescu on August 12, 2024, 10:37:38 PMVolker, I think Mohamed wants in the resulted timetables to view firstly Math teachers, then Arabic, then French, etc.

Mohamed: I think my (1) is what you need for this.

Yes, that is exactly my suggestion.

I don't mean this, but my goal is to group teachers according to subjects after the generate process.

Suggestions / grouped teachers according to subjects
August 12, 2024, 10:09:09 PM
Hello Levio, I have a suggestion. Is it possible for teachers to be grouped according to subjects?

Thank you very much for your efforts. I understand the situation and know that programming requires a lot of work and equipment, which in turn needs support from users. Every year, we post on private Facebook groups about the need to support the programmer to continue the work. We hope that a large number of users can contribute even just $20 per year, which may seem like a small amount to us but is crucial for the programmer.

The FIT program has made significant progress in recent years, but the printing feature remains the last aspect that could make the program complete without the need for external applications to facilitate printing. Is it possible to work on improving the printing format within the program?

There is a problem with the minimum days between activities because the number does not appear clearly
