I just installed FET in Fedora (the package that is included with Fedora 12). This is a really impressive project! I am involved in training at a large higher education institution. I am wondering if there is any intention to make a version of FET that is geared toward students registering for offered training workshops? With a website where students can see offered schedule of free workshops, and build a transcript of the workshops they have taken, print certificates, take/watch online tutorials. Kind of like an LMS sort of like Moodle, but different.

Definetly not.
FET is a timetabling software.
Printing certificates is a school administration software problem. That have totaly other needs. And each country have other needs. Here in NRW (A federal state of Germany) is already a official school administration software that must be used. It's coded by a company and even that guys (many payed guys) have problems with so many different school systems in NRW. Similar to other federal states in Germany. Check out the FET Link page to see other open source adminiration software pages. So if a large Company have problems about caring about a small state, how should 2 guys care about all school in the world?

About take/watch online tutorial. You should use a CSM-Software for that.

FET is only timetabling software. Maybe in some future we will add a tool to do activity planing, course planing and care about cover planing. But it will be better to write seperate software for that and not include it directly into FET. But we are currently only a 2 member unpaid team, coding during spare time on FET. So it will take a long long time to add that features, because first of all we need to code all current TODOs (compare TODO file).
