I have a timetable almost done. I am generating:

Year one (IG) just fine, this year has no electives

Tear two (AS) fine, thus year has two electives, Further Maths and Thinking Skills
To make this one work I created two groups in year AS, called Further Maths and Thinking Skills These two classes can run concurrently, a student who is in one is not in the other.

Year three is my problem. I have four electives
pair 1: Further Maths and thinking Skills
Pair 2:Economics and Chemistry

When I created a set of groups Further Maths and Thinking Skills it worked like the AS year; but, I also want a student to be able to substitute pair 2. (A student in further Maths might be in either Economics or Chemistry; similarly, a student in Thinking Skills might be in either Economics or Chemistry.)

How can I do this?

I think you need to divide year three automatically by two categories, categ. 1: division 1=FM, div. 2=Skills, categ. 2: div.1=Econ, div 2=Chem.

The option to divide a year automatically is in the years dialog.

Ok, I did that and now in Activities>Students I have A2 Thinking Skills Economics and A2 Thinking Skills Chemistry How do I put these two groups of students into one thinking skills class?

Liviu Lalescu

I think the groups is A2 Thinking Skills and the SUBgroups are how you said. Anyway, an activity may have multiple students sets - just double click each one.
