Pinpoint problem

I am in the process of packing a new Covid timetable. I have packed Grades 10, 11 & 12.
I now have to pack grades 7 (A, B, C. D & E), 8 & 9.

I had already packed grades 7A and 7B (And FET packs the tmetable)

However, having added Grade 7C, FET now throws me a curve ball.
It does not want to pack the Timetable.

I have searched hi and low to find the problem, to no avail.

Can you perhaps assist me in pinpointing the problem, please?

I would really appreciate your assistance.

See the solvable file I attach. I deactivated only a space constraint. Room 18 is overwhelmed in your input (real room, because of virtual rooms) - check the "Room 18" timetable in my file after you generate.

Thanks a lot!

One thing though. When you run into problems,
do YOU look at certain things/aspects of the timetable in a
predetermined way or pattern to find the problem?

I sometimes find that I run around in circles,
not quite knowing where to look next.

Hello,

I remove constraints and see the partial timetables. Deactivate activities, remove students/teachers.

Note: you might want to benefit also from Volker's or other user's help. Many times Volker was better than me at this

Thanks for you answer. It gives direction where to look if I
experience problems.

Something of a different kind now. I am running a timetable spread over 10 days (Gr 12 will attend all 10 days)
Grades 7 to 11 will only attend 5 of the 10 days (i.e uneven grade numbers attend on uneven numbered days & even grade numbers attend on even numbered days).

So theoretically a teacher can attend 80 classes (i.e 80x2).

Please note Grade 7E, teachers Z. Chosi & Mbawuli, A,.

7E needs 12 more periods (12 x2).
The timetable for 7E needs 12 More periods (12x2) and there is 24 open spaces on the timetable.
However FET wont pack/allocate the last 12 periods, though 7E can take 40 periods in total.

How do we explain this.

I basically had to pack two timetables, 1 for even numbered grades and 1 for uneven numbered grades, hoping to eliminate the problem, but to no avail.
