Hello,
I will be given a fixed timetable of 24 classes divided into 6 groups.  Each of the six groups has set times for three class meetings.  For example, the four classes in group 1 meet Monday 9, Wednesday 10, and Friday 12.  And so on for the other groups.  I don't have to worry about room assignments or student numbers--all I have to do is take the fixed timetable and enter it into FET, then enter the data/constraints for the teaching staff and have FET generate a timetable.  So the problem is, that I don't need alot of the functionality of FET, but I'm not sure of the best way to enter my set timetable for the six class groups.  Thanks in advance for any help.

If you can, please let us use FET terminology. It is easier and safer:

In FET, there are students sets: years, groups, subgroups. Subgroups must be non-overlapping, while years and groups may overlap. I think you have 24 independent students sets. I think you can make anything - years, groups in an arbitrary year name, or subgroups in an arbitrary year name and group name.

In FET, you have also activities: a touple consisting of a subject, a set of teachers, a set of students, and other possible data. So, you need to enter your students activities, and then you have a constraint activity preferred starting time (single activity, single time, take care). Make it permanently locked.

Then you add your teachers activities. Or do you need to add teachers to the students activities?

Please let me know if it is clear.
