Time improvement by using SSD?

Hello,

we are going to buy a new PC for FET. It ist clear that we should choose a very fast CPU. But I also wonder, if a SSD might result in significant shorter time of writing the output after generating a new timetable than a harddisk. At the moment, we use a harddisk for writing the timetable after generation and it always takes some seconds (up to ten) until FET can be used again after it claims that a timetable has been found. During that time, the output (e.g., the html-files) is written.

So my question is, if anyone has experienced an improvement by using a SSD for FET and its output.

A late reply, but better later than never:

I think the problem is in the internal computation the students' timetable, not writing on the disk. With newer FET versions you can disable writing the students' timetable on the disk (or other categories of timetables). And re-enable them in case you need the HTML files.
