Subject Limits

Hi,

I'm really impressed with FET - I'm sure we're going to be making use of it.

I was wondering if it would be possible to implement a constraint similar to the "Max hours continuously with an activity tag for all teachers", but for subject rather than activity tag. In my establishment each teacher is qualified to teach 3 different subjects, and it would be preferable to break things up so they're not teaching the same subject for lots of lessons in a row.

I think there is no need for a new constraint, because tags are more flexible than subjects. You can have more tags for an activity.

A simple solution is to define a tag in parallel with each subject (eg., for subject S1 -> add activity tag AT1) and for activities with S1, add also AT1.

It does not matter if the activity has more tags, all constraints will be respected.

A related idea: we have situations where a group of students has the same teacher for two (or occasionally three) subjects. Is there a way of limiting the number of lessons per day for a given teacher/student combination?

The activity tags will also help here :-)   (enable the constraints activity tag max hours daily, without worrying about the warning).

Ok, I think I understand - so you suggest having a teacher activity tag as well for each activity, in order to then use the activity tag constraints for this case as well?
