Finally, maybe we will need N activities grouped, so what about changing these new constraint to be tag activity controlled?

The 3 activities grouped constraint was already very difficult to implement. To implement even for 4 activities would be very difficult.

The space hint is very interesting, but i think it is not 100% the same.

So here come the solution:
set the boilogy activity to room X
set the physics activity to room Y
set the chemistry activity to room Z
assign the the tree rooms to the same dummy building
In space constraints ---> students space constraints ---->  Maximum building changes per day for a student set
choose the student group, then set the value to 0
This way, once FET schedule a physics or biloby or chemistry  activity, it will be forced to schedule the two other activity immediately after it !

This solution also mean at that day is no other (like math, english, ...) activity allowed.

If you set the value to 1, then other activities are allowed that day, but it also mean the sience block will be at the start of a day or at the end of a day, but never at the mid of a day even that is ok to zsolt (if i understood correct.)

if you set value to 2, then it can be also in the mid of the day, but i may happen that sience is at the start and at the end of the same day. (and that is not ok to zsolt if i understood correct.)

There is a minor problem: the menu for activities time constraints will become a bit too large. Please check the layout of the menu in 1024x768 resolution. Those of you who have Qt Designer may add 2 menu entries in the activities time constraints and see how it looks, the others just have to estimate the size of this menu.

What do you think, is it not too large or I need to split into Activities time constraints (1) and (2)? Should I name these with (1) and (2) or with (preferred times) and (misc)?

I made available a snapshot, on http://lalescu.ro/liviu/fet/download/test/ (as usual). There is only the tar.bz2 version for now. I'll put tomorrow the exe.

Zsolt, please test and tell me if the 2 new constraints are OK. The three activities grouped and the max days between activities.

I added a new snapshot (17 August), only a minor change, but maybe you can test a bit if you have the time.

I don't know about what do you think, but imho it's ok. My resolution is 1024x768 but the dialogs don't too big.

Not the dialogs, I mean the menu referring to activities time constraints. It has 20 constraints, might be too high to display.

Please let me know if these 2 new constraints solve correctly all your block activities problems or if the constraints are not enough/good.

It seems works well. But my input file is very complicated (and not full yet!) and the generation takes more time

OK, sure, please take your time. I'll wait with the release a few more days, maybe even a week, I am not sure. Just to make sure your problem was solved.

I have put another snapshot, 19 August 2009. Those who have more time maybe could check the menu items, I removed the unused items (old menu items) - checking must be done to see that each menu works OK. I did that, but double checking is good.

One question: the dialogs for constraints two activities grouped, two activities consecutive and three activities grouped contain two indications (description of current type of constraint + a hint not to add this constraint to activities constrained to be in different days). These two indications eat up some space from the constraints' list box. Is that a problem?

Zsolt, any results/comments yet?
