Space Queries

Hi

The attached timetable (which concludes in less than 2 secs on my computer, replacing two weeks work by hand!) is excellent.

I have two queries, which may be related. If I try to set a home room for student group 'Form II', FET will not begin to generate a timetable. It says:
Cannot generate timetable, because for activity with id==84 you have no allowed home room (from constraints students set home room(s) and teacher home room(s))

It does this for three activities only.

'Prep' means the same as homework - for the 'lessons' at the end of the day. The intention in scheduling is to have the prep done on a day when a lesson has taken place.

I am testing the scheduling of preps, which is why they only exist for Form II.

For "cannot generate" thing, it is normal, because the teacher CEH of activity id 84 has a home room with 100%, and you may try to add for Form II another home room with 100%, so FET will not be able to respect home rooms for activity 84. You may need to use constraints home roomS (more rooms), for instance for CEH -> Room1 and Room2, and for Form II -> Room1 and Room3, then FET will place 84 in Room1 (Room1, Room2 and Room3 names are invented by me).

The second query is lots of LT and LS appeared on the timetable. I worked out this meant Locked Time and Locked Space, but how did I manage to lock these things? I don't remember doing anything different.

after you generated a timetable the time and space of activities will be automaticly locked. (because only by this you can load the file and "generated" the same result quick.)

LT and LS can appear if:

1) You generate a timetable and lock some activities in the timetable view
2) You generate a timetable and lock some activities in advanced lock of timetable
3) You add constraints preferred starting time and/or preferred room with permanently locked=false (if permanently locked=true, then you get PLT and PLS).
4) You save data+timetable as.
