Hi,

Is there an option for putting custom colors for subjects for students, years for classes, etc.? If not, may I suggest this as a feature?

Kind regards,
Carol

Hello,

Could you please clarify a bit your suggestion? Do you mean "colors for subjects, students, rooms"? Or something else?

Volker might know better than me.

In the HTML results, if you generate with level 7 (colors), there is a CSS file. I looked over it and the first short list of colors is for subjects. This will appear in the students' timetable. I admit it is difficult to change manually those RGB values. Then follows a longer list of colors for (subject+students). This is unfortunately even more difficult to change, being longer. It will appear in the teachers' timetables.

Suggestions are appreciated, but it is difficult to work without financial support.

Hi,

This was a help, thank you very much. Apologies for my rubbish wording; my suggestion is for colors for subjects (for the ease of students) and students (for the ease of teachers), and to be able to change this directly in the UI (using HEX/RGB/CMYK codes, etc), rather than through the CSS/HTML files. However, I understand this is hard due to a lack of funding.

Hi!

I added both your wordings in the TODO.

Would you mean that the current behavior of the HTML level 7 (colors) is nearly acceptable (color the subject in the students' timetable and the subject+students in the teachers' timetable), but you would like to choose your colors by yourself, in the interface? In this way, the background of the cell has that color and the foreground is with white or black as needed.

Or do you mean you want in a cell to color differently the subject and the students and the room? (in the teachers' timetable.)

Unfortunately, I thought a bit more and maybe attaching a color to a subject/students set/teacher/room and saving it in the .fet XML file is not very elegant - it is not really timetabling data - but there is already some not timetabling data there - so on major force it can be added.

Also, it is not in my preferred field, I concentrate on algorithms.

Hi,

What I was getting at was attaching a specific HEX/RGB code to a year/group/subgroup, and/or subjects, but I understand if it's too much faff - coding is really not my forte!

Thanks for the help,
Carol
