Just run/unpack fet-7.11.1.exe anywhere, and use it from now on! You can remove the old fet-7.10.5 directory, but be careful not to remove useful files, such as fet data files. You can download fet-7.11.1.exe from https://lalescu.ro/liviu/fet/download.html

Since I have Windows 8.1, I don't need the update.
id you fix all the errors I had in the settings?

Liviu Lalescu

I advise you to update to the latest FET. You can get the fet-7.11.1-qt5.exe or fet-7.11.1-qt5-32bit.exe.

I corrected your constraint activities occupy min time slots from selection, deactivated the max, and unlock the timetable. That's all that I did.

When I generate and lock a schedule, then save and close the file, if I open it again the next day, I can't open that schedule—I have to generate it again to be able to view it?

Liviu Lalescu

Yes, indeed.

The reason for this is historical: we created locking constraints on our way, and did not think of considering a timetable to be opened again, but that FET needs to generate it again.

I have plans for next versions of FET, maybe even FET-8.v.v, inspired from aSc Timetables, to maintain a timetable in the fet file not by locking constraints, but separately as a timetable. This might be beneficial.

I would be willing to try to work on this, if the international community would sponsor it. Financial support is very low.

Have you ever opened primetimetable.com?
Give it a try!!!

Liviu Lalescu

I am not sure I am allowed to see that and try to replicate it. Also, I would not like to create an account there.

Also, as I said, the problem is not lack of ideas, but the lack of financial support.

You can log in using a non-existent email address, such as jan.jan@gmail.com.
Use of the application is free for 30 days.

I sent you two PDF documents today, so I was wondering if it is possible to generate a timetable like that in FET?

Liviu Lalescu

It is simply teachers time horizontal timetable view, and you can use the Print menu of FET or use the corresponding HTML file from the fet-results directory.

About fake login, I am afraid I cannot do that. I could watch their presentation videos, but I am not sure I am allowed to use their ideas in FET.

jerko

I wasn't referring to the visual layout of the schedule, but rather the number of breaks and the distribution of hours...

Liviu Lalescu

If you don't add a constraint in FET, it is not enforced. You need to add max gaps constraints for teacher(s) and min/max hours daily for teacher(s).

jerko

A maximum of 2 gaps for the teacher?

Liviu Lalescu

I recommend a progressive approach. Begin with max gaps for teachers = 3, then, if possible, lower to 2 or 1 or 0.
