Fix the forum so that if I get distracted and my forum login expires, save my draft, so I can recover the partially complete post I put a lot of work into, instead of starting over with a blank post!

I use FET once a year to schedule classes for a state wide conference on a college campus for high school students.  Some of our teachers have disabilities, some lug a lot of equipment around, some are prima donnas.  I'd like a constraint that says either all teachers or individual teachers that have consecutive classes, they are scheduled in the same room. 

I tried using homerooms, but either I don't understand them, or they are broken in 5.28.0, I have not yet figured out which.

Displaying the tags on the timetable helps while creating the input data.

But they clutter up the final timetables with information that the students and teachers are not interested in.

Is there an easy way to remove them.

 "time" constraints ->"all" -> "filter" lets me browse and edit constraints.

I want to browse and edit filtered sets of activities filtered by teacher, student group, subject, etc.

It's been about a year since I did a lot of work with fet.

I have the distinct recollection of being able to browse and edit filtered sets of activities, by subject, student, teacher, etc.

But, I've forgotten how, or a configuration setting has changed, or something.

If you don't see anything obvious I can submit a gcc bug report.

I'll think about it. Maybe I'll add this in the TODO file.

The problem with activity 189 was a variation on this problem.  Bob Roby had 5 activities for tag Time:Class, Time:Class has 6 preferred time slots, but Bob was unavailable for 2 of them.

If you do decide to add it to the TODO file.  Please consider this situation, too!

You do simliar checking for student groups who have too many activities for the available time slots

Actually the biggest problem was withTeacher Nick Bennett, who was mistakenly scheduled for 7 activities with activity Time:Class.  But, there are only 6 timeslots available for Time:Class. FET needs a way to detect and report on this kind of error.  This is not the first time I made that kind of mistake.

After I deactivated activity 191, a problem with Teacher Bob Roby's not available times.  Instead of marking him not available for the first two Time:Class time slots on Saturday afternoon.  After I relaxed it to him just being not available for the 1st time slot FET was able to create a schedule.

I'm not sure how you in on Bob Robey's not available time slot as the cause of the problem.  I think you need to try to find a way to automate that process and generate warnings about which constraints need to be relaxed.

This was working.

Don't know if I accidentally changed something by mistake.

I'm scheduling a 2 day conference.

I'm using fet-5.14.5 on a Ubuntu 11.04 system

The activities with tag Room:Video Tape are no longer scheduling successfully and I can't spot anything wrong with them. 

All the activities except the 6 that are supposed to be scheduled for video taping are scheduled at 2s, but the last 6 never get scheduled no matter how long I let it run.

1) Yes, the interface of FET is not very nice. But it does the minimum
necessary. I am not skilled at interfaces, and I have no time. I prefer
to work on algorithms. I designed the interface just to have one. The
algorithm is the essence of FET, and I hope others will come up with
better interfaces, because the engine is GNU GPL and can be used
by anybody.

Maybe in a month or so I will get time to make an attempt at tweaking
the interface along these lines.  In the meantime, is there a place where
you collect, and prioritize feature requests from users.

2) For your situation, maybe a trick: add a constraint break for these
slots. Will show an -X- in the timetable in this slot, for everybody.

Could you explain in a bit more detail how to do this?

Looking for a nice FET icon to use for a desktop laucher.  So far all I have been able to find are locked and unlocked icons.
