I would prefer to keep as it is now. Select a slot with X, and slots marked with X are red. Usually, I don't work with colors. But I would like to keep the behavior on colors.

Most of the X stands for "no", It is hard and can be overlooked easily if X stands for "yes" at few places.
But the problem of algorithm is still there.

Liviu Lalescu

For activities occupy max time slots from selection, for instance, the constraint is on the selected slots. So I see the constraint excluding some of the X slots. Similarly for the activities max simultaneous in selected slots.

There is no problem with the algorithm. It is fine with that constraint. I checked it with the sample file which you uploaded a few days ago.
If you don't think so, please upload your latest fet file here or sent you latest fet file to Liviu or me.
Also write a small sentences why you think it is wrong.

yes, of course that is fine. But there is also green color, so some guys think that you marked the green slots. so i suggest no color instead of green; of course keep the red one.

Liviu Lalescu

I prefer a unified notation, with both colors on the table.

In fact, also for teacher not available times constraints, the slots which are in fact selected with X are red and are not available. The user does not select green slots in no constraint.

Then you should tag that activities and allow it only in the first hour.
...

1) I wanted to tag activity no. 184 of Mr. A and activity no. 91 of Mr. B as "1" to make them during first hour. But there was a problem. Activities 184, 185, 186 of Mr. A and activities 91, 92, 93 were all tagged as "1". Note that every activity is 1/3. So it could not work.

2) I could achieve it this way. "A set of activities occupies max time slots from selection" was used. From all activities of Mr. A, "max occupied" was chosen 1 during first hour. From all activities of Mr. B, "max occupied" was chosen 1 during first hour. I marked 184 of Mr. A and 91 of Mr. B were placed during first hour but on different days. I do not know whether top of the list activities would be selected always. I placed another constraint of "A set of activities has same starting time (day+hour)" for activities 184 and 91. It worked.

1) you need to choose "subactivities" in the fet menue if you want to change a single subactivity. if you have choosen "activity", that will change all aubactivities of that activity.
2) yes, that is also possible.
